TERMS & CONDITIONS Once an order is placed on-line by a customer, then if it is subsequently cancelled by that customer after it has been picked up by staff ready for despatch, then there will be a 20% charge of the plant value of the order payable by the customer to cover staff time used in collating the order and returning the cancelled plants to the growing bed. All plants offered for sale are believed to be true to type and name but should a genuine mistake occur then we shall be pleased to rectify the matter. Plants are despatched in good condition and we cannot be held responsible for weather conditions, damage by animals or pests, or failure in cultivation by the purchaser especially if plants are left long term in the pots and not planted out. Complaints will not be considered unless received within 14 days of despatch of plants. In the rare event of a parcel arriving damaged or delayed, please keep all the packaging intact and notify us immediately so as we may lodge a claim on your behalf. Please do not return the damaged plants. INLAND MAIL ORDER DESPATCH All parcels are sent by Royal Mail Parcels 48 hour service (for Northern Ireland, the Highlands and Islands this may be 72 hours). For all heavier parcels and items over 1.5 metres in length (except N.I., the Highlands and Islands) we use the C & G overnight service (part of ANC). We regret that we are unable to send items over 1.5m in length by Royal Mail Parcels and Parcelforce charge a 100% surcharge to these excluded areas. The Channel Islands are classed as an international destination and postage is at cost by the published R.M. International Tariff. For all parcels, if necessary please inform us of an alternative daytime delivery address in order to avoid any delay with the delivery of your plants. POSTAGE & PACKING CHARGES (for guidance only) Orders containing Alpines, Herbaceous Plants, Heathers, Grasses and Ferns charged accordingly. For very small/lightweight orders we will adjust gthe charge levied accordingly.
Orders containing Shrubs, Conifers and Climbing Plants. Due to the variability in size, weight and packing time required, then carriage and packing is charged at cost. EXPORT ORDERS We are pleased to undertake despatch of orders worldwide. Customers should make themselves aware of any restrictions regarding import of certain plants to their country before ordering. All orders are charged Postage and Packing at cost due to varying tariffs. For areas outside the EC we have to obtain a Phytosanitary Certificate to accompany the parcel and this is chargeable. Also certain countries such as USA and Canada require import permits from the recipient to accompany the parcel. The courier service used is with Royal Mail Parcelforce air mail or International Datapost. PLEASE NOTE We endeavour to despatch all orders as soon as possible after receipt but during any periods of higher temperatures there is no regular despatch due to the inability of many plants to travel successfully whilst in full growth. At certain very busy times of year (i.e. March, April and October) delays in despatch can occur and if you can avoid making unnecessary enquiries about your order during these months it does help us considerably. During extremely wet, frosty or drought conditions we reserve the right to withhold despatch until conditions improve. Please remember that the prevailing weather conditions in this part of the North West are often very different and several weeks behind those areas further south in Britain as winters can be severe and spring late in coming. REMITTANCE TERMS All orders are strictly net, payment with order. Account facilities are only available to Local Authorities, The National Trust and other bona-fide institutions. A 10% credit surcharge is added to all accounts, deductable if paid within 1 month. PRIVACY POLICY Holden Clough Nursery do not disclose buyers information to third parties. Cookies are used on this shopping site, but only to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item.
