Tatton Park Success!
Tatton Park Success
Wednesday 18 Jul 2012
This year deciding to go for a bigger stand than last year the pressure was on. Also with the weather being against us, the sunshine being a rareity and it being so cold it was a real challenge to get the plants into flower and looking in their prime condition. However thanks to some floodlights and a fan heather the Crocosmias came into flower 1 day before judging!
The stand focussed on sun loving plants on one side with an array of Achilleas, Crocosmias, Monardas, then moving round to a shady side focussing on many varieties of Astilbe, Hostas and Ligularias with a small pond anda path which linked the 2 sides.
Being only 1 point off a Gold we were at the top of our category, but considering the weather conditions we have been faced with this year, and the fact that our plants are all growing outside and not in artificial conditions we are over the moon with our medal.
