'All Things Garden'
Established in 1927 by Richard Milne-Redhead Holden Clough Nursery became one of the country's leading Alpine nurseries. Serving customers up and down the country and also providing a renowned local landscaping service the nursery was a centre of excellence for anything concerning plants!
Now 85 years on the nursery is still going strong! Now we not only just grow alpines, but also a larger range of plants including many new and unusual perennials, shrubs, climbing plants and much more! Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, we are well worth a visit. Tucked away in the hamlet of Holden you will be enchanted by the beauty of the surrounding countryside.
Run by John and Kate Foley the nursery has undergone a transformation; mother nature had been in charge of the nursery for the past few years and now you won’t believe the difference. A new 55 space car park, new sales beds and thousands of plants ready to tempt you. The latest project at the nursery was the construction of a new Tea room in conjunction with a new larger nursery shop and also indoor space to run more courses and events. The new tea room is called The Garden Kitchen and is open 7 days a week serving home cooked traditional food with a twist using locally sourced ingredients
The nursery is renowned for growing plants that will grow with you! As the saying goes ‘If it will grow at Holden Clough, then it will grow anywhere' with 6 feet of rainfall per year and record low temperatures, so you really can buy from us with the confidence that we grow proper plants at also proper prices!
